Struthers: There will be funeral services on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Wilma LaRue Ferguson, 71, who passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, September 5, 2014 at Hospice House with her family by her side.

Wilma was born July 3, 1943 in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Henry and Emma L. (Gallagher) Boyer. Her family moved to the Youngstown area when she was a child.

Wilma was a loving mother to her three children, Kellie J. Courtney of Alliance, Dale P. Boyer of Struthers and Brian (Kristy) Ferguson of Polan;, a proud grandmother to six grandchildren, Matthew Jacobson and Brandon Jacobson, both of Alliance, Hayley Boyer and Courtney Boyer, both of Struthers, and Ethan Ferguson and Bryan Ferguson, both of Poland; two sisters, Delores Chalfant of Lowellville and Faye James) Velez of Canton South, Ohio.

Besides her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Boyer.

Family and friends may call on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, Boardman with funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m.

The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512-2198 in memory of Wilma.
