Youngstown: There will be a Memorial Service on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Mary Ann Louise Kowardy, 72 who died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Saint Elizabeth Health Center.

She was born September 23, 1939 in Dixonville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Walter J. and Anna K. (Duchon) Kowardy.

Mary Ann moved to the Youngstown area when she was a child and graduated from South High School in 1957.

She worked as an Accounts payable clerk for McKelvey's in downtown Youngstown for over 10 years and later The Youngstown Vindicator for several years.

Mary Ann was a member of Saint Stanislaus Church, a member of the Y.W.C.A. and was known for her great smile and her kind heart.

She is survived by two sisters; Patty Lezark of Youngstown, Debbie (Frank) Stanovcak of Poland, two brothers Walter (Emma) Kowardy of Oklahoma, Anthony M. Kowardy of Youngstown and her good friend and companion Dale V. Miller of Youngstown.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Boardman.
