Boardman: Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September. 24, 2011 at 11a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman with Reverend Dennis Massie officiating for Jean Duttry, 87 who passed away Wednesday evening, September 21, 2011 due to a long illness. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was born January 6, 1924 in Portage, Pa the daughter of the late Ray and Elsie (Seaman) Moudy.
She graduated from Portage High School and Cambria Rowe Business College, Johnstown, Pa. She was employed at Soaman Coal Mine as a secretary. Jean moved to Butler, Pa in 1952, where she worked for Troutman's Dept. Store in the credit office and later for Montgomery Ward as payroll clerk. In 1960 she went to work for Nationwide Insurance Company at the Regional Office in Butler, Pa and transferred to Ohio and spent the next 32 years with them until she retired in 1992.
Jean was a member of Boardman Baptist Church for five years. Prior to that, she was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene where she served in many capacities.
Jean was a volunteer for Hospice of the Valley for three years.
Besides her husband James E. Duttry whom she married June 24, 1944, Jean leaves two daughters, Donna (Glenn) Wilson of Zelienople, Pa. and June (Michael) Galich of Boardman. Four grandchildren Bill Rose, Barbara (Steve) Parsons, Jim (Lisa) Galich, Heather (Ryan) Cusick and five great grandchildren, two sisters, Lois Hampson of Taylor, S.C. and Joyce Wagner of Hunstville, Texas.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and two brothers, Willard Moudy and Fred Moudy.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 at Thompson Funeral Home, Boardman and on Saturday one hour prior the service. Internment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to Boardman Baptist Church Building Fund, 1207 Shields Road, Boardman, Ohio 44511.
