Luke Leo Heffron, 96

Youngstown: There will be funeral services on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Luke Leo Heffron, 96 who died Monday evening, May 27, 2013 at Valley Care Northside Medical Center.

Luke was born May 6, 1917 in Youngstown, the son of the late John and Augusta (Burt) Heffron. He graduated from East High School in 1935 and was a lifelong area resident.

He work for Truscon Steel in Youngstown for over 35 years and later worked as a foreman at Fox Industries for 10 years, retiring in 1980.

Luke was a member of Saint Patrick Church. He served his country in the Navy during World War II.

He is survived by two daughters; Judith (Carl) Parrot of Punta Gorda, Florida and Alice "Sally" (Donald) Dennis of Circleville, Ohio, 15 grandchildren,18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, a daughter -in-law; Martha Heffron of Youngstown and a sister-in-law Gladys Heffron of Austintown.

Besides his parents, Luke was preceded in death by his wives, the former Alice D. Arance and Mammie Moore, a son John F. Heffron, 2 brothers; Elwood Heffron and Thomas Heffron, 4 sisters; Madlyn Sovik, Jean Shurbert, Katherine Emrich, Winifred Tobin, a granddaughter, and great granddaughter.

Family and friends may call on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
