Austintown – Lois Anne Engelhardt, 72, of Austintown, passed away peacefully Friday evening, October 11, 2024.
She was born March 26, 1952 in Youngstown, the daughter of Rees and Hellen (Lambert) Engelhardt and was a lifelong area resident.
Lois was a 1970 graduate of South High School and continued her education at Youngstown State University where she earned an associate’s degree in applied sciences. She was employed for over 15 years as a childcare provider.
Lois was a member of Old North Church and took an active role with the Girl Scouts of America where she was a scout leader. She also did volunteer work with the American Red Cross and Angels for Animals.
Lois will always be remembered for her commitment to Jesus Christ and passion for animals.
Lois will always be remembered by her siblings Robert (Jackie) Engelhardt, Bill Engelhardt and Lynne (Tom) McCloskey, her nieces Terri (Ralph) Engelhardt-Winiarski, Wendy (John) Schneider and Lauralee McCloskey, her nephews Ross (Jennifer) McCloskey, Rees Engelhardt, Bill (Brandi) Engelhardt and Ritchiz Englehardt, her great nieces and nephews Tommy, Michael, Ross, Alex McClosky, Owen, Chuck, Emily Schneider, Grace and Wyatt Engelhardt and Rylie and Colton Miller along with her good friend Robyn Pickett and many other friends and her church family
Lois was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Eric McCloskey
Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 10:00 am until 10:55 am at Old North Church, 7105 Herbert Rd., Canfield, where a memorial service will take place at 11:00 am with Pastor Rick Enlow as celebrant.
A private burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Thompson Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
