John William Norris, 72

Salineville: There will be funeral services on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for John William Norris, 72 who died Tuesday morning, June 21, 2011 at Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by his family.

He was born April 7, 1939 in Kent England, the son of the late William and Audrey Norris. John served in the British Army as a paratrooper before moving to United States in 1963. He moved to the Woodworth and surrounding area. He graduated cum laude from Youngstown State University in 1967 with a bachelors degree in humanities.

John was a claims adjuster with Prudential Insurance Company for 32 years, retiring in 1997 and later worked at The Morning Journal for 5 years as a newspaper driver.

John is survived by four children Jennifer J. (Dave) Frye of Leetonia, Ohio, Amy E. Norris of Lakewood, Ohio, Derek W. (Stacey) Norris of Poland, Ohio, and Jason J. (Kellie) Norris of Garrettsville, Ohio, a sister Eileen Norris and a brother Derek Norris, both of England, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother David Norris.

Friends may call on Friday, June 24, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman.

John was a great and loving Dad and he will be missed extremely by his loving family and friends
