Jean A. (Johnson) Phillips, 74

Youngstown: Jean A. Phillips, 74, formerly of Hopkins Road, passed away Wednesday morning January 1, 2014 at Meridian Arms with her family by her side.

Jean was born March 29, 1939 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Alison (Scott) Johnson. She graduated from South High School in 1956 and lived in the Youngstown area her entire life.

She was a bookkeeper at Youngstown Mirror & Glass Company for over 52 years, retiring in 2008.

Jean was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church and a member of the Aut Mori Cauldron and Mirian Chapter NO. 278, OES.

Her husband of 15 years, Earnest E. Phillips, whom she married on November 13, 1973, died March 10, 1989.

Jean is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Tony) Grosso of Canfield and Karen Keller of Las Vegas, Nevada, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by step children Cynthia Arnoto, Ernest W. Phillips and a brother, Nicholas B. Johnson II.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman.

Family and friends may call on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home and from 10:00 to 11:00 on Saturday at the funeral home.
