Boardman: There will be funeral services on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 11:00 am at Thompson~Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Donald Louis Wellendorf, 75, who passed away Sunday morning, June 22, 2014 at Saint Elizabeth Boardman Health Center with his family by his side.
Donald was born August 2, 1938 in Salem, Ohio, the son of Fay A. and Virginia L. (Perkins) Wellendorf. He was a proud 1957 graduate of Canfield High School and served in the Marine Corps Reserve.
Donald was a truck driver trainer for 40 years, working for Transport America, retiring in 2007. After retiring, he worked at Donnell Ford in Boardman and Boardman Subaru.
Donald was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church. He was an avid gardener and loved the Canfield Fair. He was a volunteer worker with the Core Six.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, the former Jane Ann Rollason, whom he married October 10, 1964, two children Kristen J. (David) Colley of Austintown, Michael D. (Heather) Wellendorf of Highland Heights, Ohio, his mother Virginia L. Wellendorf of Poland, three brothers Ken (Marti) Wellendorf of Mansfield, Ohio, Larry (Toni) Wellendorf of Salem, Ted Wellendorf of Canfield, a sister, Barbara (Mac) McPeak of Lakeland, Florida, two grandchildren, Micaela Wellendorf and Michael Wellendorf.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fay A. Wellendorf.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Thompson~Filicky Funeral Home and one hour prior the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

The Wellendorf family would like to thank, Hope Center and St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center ICU unit for the wonderful care, compassion and support that they gave to Donald and his family.
