Diana K. Baber-Torrez, 62
Youngstown: Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Diana Kay Baber-Torrez, 62 who died Monday morning, October 21, 2013 at her residence.
Diana was born May 20, 1951 in Morgantown, West Virginia, the daughter of the late John L. and Betty J. (Shriver) Simmons. She moved to the Youngstown area as a child and graduated from South High School in 1969.
She was a homemaker and worked as a clerk in the Ambulatory Care Center at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 17 years, retiring in 2009. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Hospital DMAT Team.
Diana is survived by a daughter; Betsie E. Rosser of Youngstown, a brother Dennis Simmons and a sister Margaret Simmons, both of Youngstown, four grandchildren; Hannah Rosser, Kylie Ogden, Ryan Rosser and Michael Ogden, good friends Carl and Karen Zurcher, with whom she made her home and her favorite four-legged friend, Emily.
Besides her parents, Diana was preceded in death by a brother John Simmons and a sister Rosemary McCullough.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Boardman, followed by Memorial Service at 7 p.m.
Diana enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
