Barbara L. Whistler, 83

Poland: Barbara Louise Whistler, 83, died Friday morning, November 14, 2014 at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born December 16, 1930 in Fairmont, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Glenn and Edna (Weatherholt) Feaster.

Barbara came to the Youngstown area as a child. She graduated from Scienceville High School, Class of 1949.

She formerly attended Boardman United Methodist Church. She was a member of AARP, Ohio Culture Club and was a homemaker.

Barbara is survived by three sons, Gary W. Whistler of Saint Petersburg, Florida, Richard L. Whistler of Sarasota, Florida and Kevin L. Whistler of Canfield; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sister-in-law and good friend, Jeanne Feaster of North Jackson; and her 2 granddaughters with whom she had a special bond, KayLee Whistler and Kacey Whistler.

Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, William L. Whistler, whom she married on June 5, 1948, died September 28, 1993; and a brother, Jack Feaster.

Private services will be on Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman. There are no calling hours.

Barbara was a caring mother who enjoyed spending time with her three sons and her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
