Victoria L. Holmstrom

Boardman: Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Victoria Linda Holmstrom, cherished wife, and mother, who passed away peacefully Friday morning, October 11, 2013 at Hospice House.

Victoria was born February 6, 1921 in the Fosterville area of Youngstown, the daughter of the late Omo and Mary Pelanda.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, formerly of Foster Memorial Church - of which she was a member for 75 years. During WW II, Victoria worked in California as a member of the famed "Rosie the Riveter" movement. Her husband of nearly 50 years, Raymond G. Holmstrom whom she married on July 25, 1942, died March 23, 1992.

Victoria is a cherished mother who is survived by three daughters; Rae Holmstrom of Poland, Darlene (Jerry) Luck of Scott Depot, West Virginia and Kristina Glavies of Boardman, 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; Frank and Arnold Pelanda and two sisters; Rose Testa and Stella Waller.

Family and friends may call today, October 13, 2013 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Boardman, followed by funeral service at 3 p.m.
