Thomas Ray Thompson, 66
Youngstown: There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7325 Westview Drive, Boardman for Thomas Ray Thompson, 66 who passed away suddenly Sunday morning, January 5, 2014 at his residence.
Tom was born June 1, 1947 in Youngstown, the son of the late Raymond E and Fern J. (Wrikeman) Thompson.
He graduated from Chaney High School in 1965 and later from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Business.
Tom worked for the Twinsburg City School District, in the custodian department for over 20 years, retiring in 2007.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching sports. Tom was a proud supporter of his "Ohio teams", the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians.
Tom is survived by his mother, Fern J. Thompson of Youngstown, and three children, Jim Thompson of Youngstown, Anissa (Gary) Kalbasky of Boardman, Sean (Nicole) Thompson of Youngstown and a brother William L. (Phyllis) Thompson of Aurora, a sister-in-law, Virginia Thompson of Boardman and four grandchildren Brianna Thompson, Ashley Thompson, Dominic Kalbasky and Ava Kalbasky.
Besides his father, Tom was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth E. Thompson.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman and on Friday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m.
