Thomas Paul Hilbert, 83

Boardman: There will be funeral services on Friday evening, May 24, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Thomas Paul Hilbert, 83 who died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at his residence.

Tom was born April 24, 1930 in Youngstown the son of the late Frank and Elsie (Martin) Hilbert. He lived in the Youngstown area his entire life.

He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict.

Tom was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church, Youngstown, where he served as an Elder of the church. He was a member of Kiwanis.

He was a truck driver and was the owner and operator of TR & D Leasing of Youngstown for over 25 years.

His wife of 57 years, the former Rae Arlene Moore whom he married on October 26, 1954, died May 20, 2012.

Tom is survived by a son David P. (Lenore) Smith of Boardman, two grandsons David Christopher Smith and Richard Daniel Spencer, both of Youngstown, two great grandsons; Brayden Gordon Smith and David Ashton Smith, both of Atlanta, Georgia.

Besides his parents and wife, Tom was preceded in death by four brothers; Frank "Brother" Hilbert, William Hilbert, Randall Hilbert and Donald Hilbert, two sisters, Alice Smith and Donna Wem.

Friends and family may call on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Boardman. Service will follow at 7:00 p.m.
