Shirley J. (Palisin) Craven, 79 Youngstown: There will be funeral services on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 4 p.m. at New Covenant Worship Center, 1900 Canfield Road, Youngstown, for Shirley Jeanne Craven, 79, of Park Vista Retirement Community, who died Thursday, April 23, 2015 with her family by her side. Shirley was born May 13, 1935, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Michael E. and Maxine (Miller) Palisin. She graduated from South High School in 1954. Shirley was a homemaker and worked in the food service industry. She lived in Dade City, Florida, Jensen Beach, Florida, New Castle, Pennsylvania, before returning to Youngstown. She was a member of New Covenant Worship Center, Church of the Nazarene. Shirley is survived by a son, Paul D. (Shari) Craven of New Castle, Pennsylvania; a brother, Reverend Robert (Joan Howe) Palisin of Concord, North Carolina; a granddaughter, Jamie (Edward) Clarke of Wexford, Pennsylvania; four nephews, Capt. Robert E. (Pam) Palisin, II of Manaaas, Virginia, Thomas A. (Lia) Palisin of Fairview Park, Ohio, Jeff H. (Marita) Palisin of Massapequa, New York and Brian M. (Jessie) Palisin of Ridgeway, South Carolina. Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Russell Craven whom she married in 1961, died April 25, 1981.
