Ruth E. (Jarvis) Raver, 90

Boardman: Ruth E. Raver, 90, formerly of Boardman, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, August 30, 2016 at Maplecrest Nursing Home with her family by her side.

She was born on September 8, 1925 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late John S. and Elizabeth (Cullen) Jarvis.

After graduating from South High School in 1943, Ruth worked in the offices of Household Finance and later City Machine and Welding in Youngstown. She took time away from work to raise her four children and later returned to the work force as an office manager for Specialty Pipe & Tube in Warren from which she retired in 1987, after 19 years.

She was a member of Lockwood United Methodist Church.

Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory, her four children, Linda (Alan) Doll of North Carolina, Jack (Cristina) Raver of Boardman, David (Laurie) Raver of Florida, and Nancy (Ken) Coco of Florida; 2 grandchildren, Jason (Lisa) Doll and Craig (Denise) Doll and two great grandchildren, Alan Doll and Ian Doll.

Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jack T. Raver who passed away August 13, 2014; a brother Thomas Jarvis; and sister, Jean Powell.

Ruth will be remembered for her perpetual optimism and devotion to family. She only saw the good in people and treated everyone with love and respect. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.

A private memorial services will be held for Ruth. There are no calling hours.

The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512 or to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44514 in memory of Ruth.

The family would like to thank Ruth's doctors, and caregivers, especially Hospice of the Valley and hospice House for the love, care and support that they gave Ruth and her family.
