Ruth C. Eddy, 83

Poland: There will be funeral services on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street for Ruth C. Eddy, 83, formerly of W. Western Reserve Road, who died Friday, October 21, 2016 at Briarfield Manor, with her family by her side.

Ruth was born March 12, 1933 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Albert and Christine (Scott) Taylor.

She graduated from South High School in 1951 and was a lifelong area resident.

Ruth was an Office Clerk with General Fireproofing in Youngstown for several years, sold Avon for several years and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother.

She was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church in Youngstown, a member of the Hammond Organ Club, Friends of Boardman Library and the Notables Christian Singing Group. She enjoyed Turner Classic Movies and love for her dogs.

Ruth is survived by three children, Mark R. (Ginny) Eddy of Boardman, Christine R. (Mark) McKenna of Canton, Georgia, and John G. (Jennifer) Eddy of Stow; a sister, Barbara Babinchak of Austintown; 6 grandchildren, Brittany Eddy of Howland, Scott (Leslie) Eddy of Brownwood, Texas, Kayleigh (Mark) Angelo of Lake Milton, William Eddy of Boardman, Drew McKenna and Kelsey McKenna, both of Canton, Georgia; and 2 great granddaughters, Sasha Lyn Gregory and Layla Marie Angelo.

Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Richard A. "Dick" Eddy, whom she married on July 18, 1959, died January 8, 2008; 2 brothers, Albert Taylor, Jr. and David Taylor; and 2 sisters, Margaret Taylor and Betty Taylor.

Family and friends may call on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 11 to 12:45 p.m. at Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, follow by service at 1 pm.
