Robert "Bob" Alan Briggs, 65 Youngstown: There will be funeral services on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10:30 am at Thompson~Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Robert Alan Briggs, 65, who passed away on Tuesday evening, June 24, 2014 at his home. Bob was born April 27, 1949 in Youngstown the son of the late Lee A. and Dorothy J. (Collingwood) Briggs. He was a 1967 graduate of Chaney High School. Bob worked for the Youngstown Vindicator and later for Cold Metal Products in Campbell, retiring after 30 years. He was a devout Cleveland sports fan and especially loved his Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed listening to classic rock music especially The Who. Bob loved watching sports, old-time movies and the game show network. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and the newspaper word jumble. Bob loved sitting at his dinette table watching birds and squirrels. Bob was a great father, brother and most importantly a great man. Bob is survived by his sister and his rock, Judy L. Briggs, children Everett P. (Amanda) Briggs, Lee A. (Francine) Briggs all of Youngstown, Carol F. Chapman of Columbus, Michael R. (Pamela) Briggs of Youngstown, and 11 grandchildren. Bob leaves behind his beloved dog Midnight who was always by his side, even at his time of his death.
