Richard (Dick) A. Jones

Boardman: There will be funeral services on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Thompson~Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Richard A. Jones, 73, who passed away Thursday afternoon, February 20, 2014 at Hospice House with his family by his side.

Richard was born July 14, 1940 in Youngstown, the son of the late Wyndam and Alice (Hultgren) Jones. He was a 1958 graduate of South High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He worked as a roll form operator for GF Furniture in Youngstown and later in Tennessee, for 28 years, retiring in 2005 and returning to the Youngstown area in 2012.

Richard leaves three children, Richard (Cindy) Jones of Boardman, with whom he made his home , Matthew (Shelly) Jones of Poland and John Jones of Boardman, three step children, Barbara (Ron) Craighead of Tennessee, Mary Lee Boring of Indiana and Jimmy Rittenberry of Tennessee, 11 grandchildren, Tricia (Phil Calzo), Chrissy, Richard, Matthew (Andrea), Rory, Riley, Renna, Rhys, Johnny, Austin Jones, Jessica (Brian) Ciavarella, three great grandchildren, Alice Grace, Ian and Isabella. Sister Carol Davis of Columbus, two sister-in-laws and three brother-in-laws and several nieces and nephews who he remained close with throughout his life.

Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his first wife the former Patricia (DeGeorge) whom he married on September 14, 1963, passed away July 20, 1990 and his second wife the former Ersa (Cole) whom he married on May 1, 1995 and passed away September 23, 2011.
