YOUNGSTOWN - Patricia L. Beniston, 86, passed away on October 19, 2026, at Hospice House.
She was born on December 19, 1939, in Youngstown, the daughter of Alan and Lalla Swagger Stough.
Patricia was a graduate of South High School. She worked for many years as a cashier for Consolidated, and later served as an accountant for Easter Seals until her retirement.
She was a woman of many enjoyments and simple pleasures. She loved watching the Cleveland Indians, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Washington Redskins, and she also enjoyed NASCAR. In quieter moments, she found happiness in reading, cooking, and baking, and she was a huge Rod Stewart fan. Her companionship with her partner, Tom, was very special, and whether it was taking nice long drives, shopping or having dinner, she loved the time they spent together. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Brayer (Bob Dripps) of Youngstown; her sons, John Beniston (Kay Clark) of Youngstown and Dan (Deborah) Beniston of Ellsworth; longtime companion, Tom Alexander; grandchildren, Margaret Ann (Sam), Timmie (Ally), Chad (Jess), Kristi (Dylan), Allie, and Gavin; her great-grandchildren, Shanice, Timmie, Hudson, Maeve, DJ, and Sofia; her former husband, John (Peggy) Beniston and her niece, Debbie (Frank) Goss.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Eileen Durkin.
Family and friends may gather for visitation on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 3300 Canfield Rd, Youngstown, OH 44511. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
