Nile Ira DuVall

Miamisburg, Ohio: There will be funeral services on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Paradise United Church of Christ, 10020 New Buffalo Road, Canfield for Nile Ira DuVall, who just turned 100 years old, formerly of Canfield, who died Friday evening, March 22, 2013 at his residence.

Nile was born on March 19, 1913 in Beaver Township, Ohio, the son of the late Reverend Benjamin A. and Virgie V. (Hixson) DuVall.

He graduated from Boardman High School in 1931 and lived in Indiana, Tennessee and Arkansas.

Nile worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Company and later for A.T. & T. He retired in 1976 as an engineer, after 38 years of service.

He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarence, Youngstown and the First Church of the Nazarence, Miamisburg, Ohio. Nile was a life-time member of the American Legion Post 2000 and of the Nazarence church. He and his wife, Alice served as volunteers for Nazarence missions in Brazil and Belize.

Nile served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during peacetime and was in the construction battalion.

His wife of 79 years, the former Alice B. Moyer whom he married on October 21, 1931, died October 6, 2011.

Nile is survived by two sons, Lloyd DuVall and Howard A. (Audrey) DuVall, both of Springsboro, Ohio, a brother; Dean (Juanita) DuVall of Columbiana, 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, Nile was preceded in death by his only daughter, Lois (DuVall) Knox, a sister Erma (DuVall) Davis and two brothers; Harold DuVall and retired Army Captain Dale DuVall.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from noon to 1 p.m. at Paradise United Church of Christ, Canfield. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery
