Mary Elizabeth Smith

Youngstown: There were private funeral services on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Mary Elizabeth Smith, 102 who died Sunday, March 17, 2013.

Mary was born August 11, 1910 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Milton and Carrie (Chapman) Pflug.

She was a lifelong area resident of Youngstown. Mary enjoyed crocheting and playing the slots.

Her husband of 44 years, Delbert Smith whom she married on February 19, 1934, died July 30, 1978.

Mary is survived by three sons; Richard Smith of Montgomery, Illinois, Robert (Sarah) Smith of Portmouth, Ohio, Leroy Smith of Girard, Ohio, two daughters; Carol (Albert) Torres of Youngstown, with whom she made her home, and Alice Bott of Mesa, Arizona, 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a son; Dale Smith and three sisters; Susan Lentz, Georgia Moffo, and Cora Pfug.

There are no calling hours.

The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to All Caring Hospice, 6715 Tippecanoe Road, Building B, suite 101, Canfield Ohio 44406 in memory of Mary.
