Mary Ruth Reents, 90 North Lima: Mary Ruth Reents, 90, formerly of Struthers Road, Poland died Monday morning, December 2, 2013 at Assumption Village with her family by her side. Mary was born March 1, 1923 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary A. (Walsh) MacFarland and lived her entire life in the Youngstown area. She worked as a beautician for over 60 years and owned her own salon on Struthers Road. Mary also worked for Gorant's Chocolate at the manufacturing plant in Boardman for over 7 years. Her husband of 15 years, Homer L. Reents, whom she married in 1940, died August 14, 1955. Mary is survived by two daughters, Pam Reents of Youngstown and Barbie Reents of Arizona, two great grandchildren, three nieces, Sandra S. Durbin and Marilyn Burrows, both of North Lima and Marica Paine of Canfield, two nephews, Kim MacFarland of North Lima and Don Moretti of Brookfield. Besides her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a son Charles H. Reents, three brothers, Earl MacFarland, Donald MacFarland, and Robert MacFarland and a sister, Dorothy MacFarland. Private funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Boardman.
