Martha L. Roepke

Boardman: Martha L. Roepke, 87, died on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Briarfield of Boardman.

She was born April 29, 1925 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late William K. and Emma (Maag) Paschke and was a lifelong area resident.

Her husband William J. Roepke whom she married on November 26, 1941, died February 9, 1983.

Martha is survived by two daughters Marcie (James) Applegate of Boardman, Paula (Thomas) Redding of Bayfield, Colorado, three granddaughters; Heather Scott, Julia (Samuel) Vargas and Alyssa (Dustin) Strietzel, a great granddaughter Geneva Rose Scott, two sisters Marian Marshall of Leeper, Pennsylvania, and Carol Good of Hadley, Pennsylvania.

Besides her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by a daughter Kathleen L. Roepke who died on April 6, 2012.

Per the family's requests, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. A private memorial will occur at a future date.

Martha realized the essential value of medical teaching. With that, she donated her body to Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to the donor's favorite Animal Shelter of their choice.

Local arrangements are being handled by Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman.
