Obituary

Youngstown: There will be funeral services on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Marjorie Edith Houk, 102 who died Friday morning, November 9, 2012 at Park Vista Retirement Community.

Marjorie was born October 26, 1910 in Pearl River, New York, the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude (Spells) Peake. She moved to the Youngstown area when she was a child.

She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church, the Corem Chapter #454 Order of Eastern Star, the A.A.R.P., and the Senior Citizen Organization at Good Hope Lutheran Church. During World War II, Marjorie polished airplane parts at General Fireproofing in Youngstown.

Her husbands; Paul Harris whom she married in 1926, died in 1958, and Gus Houk whom she married December 7, 1963, died April 19, 1989.

Marjorie is survived by two sons Paul (Beth) Harris of Nashville, Georgia and Tom Harris of Casadaga, Florida, a daughter Margie (Ed) Miller of Hartford, Ohio, a step-son Clifford Houk of Houston, Texas , and a step daughter Joann (Ed) Kusky of Austintown, 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husbands, a brother Clarence Peake, a sister Edna G. Connell, a step-son Dr. Raymond Houk, a grandson Timothy Kusky, and a great grandson Bert J. Harris.

Family and friends may call on Monday, November 12, 2012 from 11:00 to 12:00 noon at Thompson Funeral Home, Boardman.
