Marian "Carlie" R. Ferris, 83 Boardman: There will be funeral services on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Thompson~Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Marian Rosalie Ferris, 83, who died Thursday morning, February 12, 2015 at Greenbriar Health Care Center. Marian known as "Carlie" was born May 12, 1931 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Carleton E. and Merrell G. (Miller) Woodruff, Sr. She graduated from South High School in 1949 and was a lifelong area resident. Carlie was a sales clerk for Livingston Clothing Store in downtown Youngstown and later was a Meter Maid for the Salem Police Department for five years, before retiring in 1964. She is survived by her brother, Carleton E. (Shirley) Woodruff, Jr. of Austintown, and her sister, Merle G. Burton of Youngstown several nieces and nephews and great-nieces & nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Carlie was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Thomas G. Ferris whom she married August 22, 1953, died February 1, 1976.
