Youngstown:  Kathy Ann (Kent) Woods, 81, of Youngstown, passed away early Monday morning, December 19, 2022 with her loving family by her side.

Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed.

She was born April 26, 1941 in Youngstown, the daughter of Donald and Kathleen (Lockhalt) Kent and was a lifelong area resident.

Kathy was a graduate of Poland Seminary High School and was a proud homemaker. She always made her family her top priority and loved spending with them. Kathy also was employed as a crossing guard for Struthers Local School System retiring after 35 years of service.

She was a member of New Covenant Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed watching TV especially Steve Harvey along with bowling, where she belonged to several leagues.

Her husband Walter Lewis Wood whom she married on July 29, 1972 and they were together for over 47 years, passed away on April 28, 2019.

Kathy is survived by two sons, Ronald S. (Heather) Woods of Brookfield and Walter W. Woods of Youngstown, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a brother Doug (Debbie) Kent and two sisters Cheryl Vecchio and Donna McIntire along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, Kathy was preceded in death by her siblings William Kent, Donald Kent, and James Merl Kent and Gertt Keltz.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Thompson Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street in Boardman.
