John "Jack" Cecil Tooill, 94 Youngstown: There will be funeral services on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for John Cecil Tooill, 94, also known as "Jack," who died Friday morning, September 16, 2011 at Valley Care, Northside Medical Center. He was born July 30, 1917 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late Ralph H. and Edna M. (Gilbert) Tooill. Jack lived in the Youngstown area his entire life and graduated from Scienceville High School in Youngstown and Youngstown College, earning a bachelors degree. He was a marine and served his country during World War II. He worked for Aeroquip in Youngstown for 30 years and later worked as a chemical engineer for Parker Hannifin, Kent, Ohio for 10 years before retiring in 1980. Jack was a member of the former St. Rocco's Episcopal Church, where he served as a lay reader and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Youngstown. He was a member of the Western Star Lodge #21 F & A.M. and a 32nd degree Mason. His wife, the former Viriginia J. Leasure, whom he married on April 25, 1941, died November 1, 2003. Jack is survived by a son John "Jack" Charles Tooill of Youngstown, two sisters Lucille Sturdevant of Dayton, Ohio and Marybelle Murdock of Sebring, Ohio. Besides his parents and wife, Jack was preceded in death by two sisters Irene Johnson and Clarabelle Smith. Family and friends may call on Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Boardman and one hour prior the service on Monday, at the funeral home.
