Jean D. Egolf, 93 Austintown: There will be funeral services on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Jean D. Egolf, 93, who died Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Austinwoods Nursing Center with her family by her side. Jean was born August 25, 1921 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mildred (George) Huston. She was formerly from Niles and previously lived in Salem. She worked for The Shield of Faith Ministry Center in Girard for over 25 years and was a homemaker. Jean was a member of Highway Tabernacle, and was involved in her church all her life. She taught Sunday school, involved with the singles group and missionaries at church. She loved to crochet for others and growing flowers in her garden every year. Her husband of 39 years, James F. Egolf, whom she married on January 31, 1942, died March 12, 1981. Jean is survived by three children: James L. (Sharon) Egolf of Salem, Patricia (Tom) James of Warren, Cheryl L. (Jerry) Mimna of Lisbon; daughter-in-law, Carol Egolf of Fayetteville, Arkansas, a sister, Billie (Dick) Gutteridge of Spring Hill Tennessee; brother-in-law Bob (Ginny) Egolf of Canfield; 11 grandchildren, David (Barb) James, Tim (Angela) James, Megan Bennett, Josh (Michelle) Mimna, Molly (Zack) James, Heather (BJ) Kaskalavich, James T. (Heather) Egolf, Tamara Egolf, Jessica Egolf, Jennifer (John) Urguidi, Holly (Jeremy) Andrews; and 23 great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey L. Egolf, who died November, 2003; a sister Thelma Frederick and her husband, Fred; and two step-brothers.
