James S. Stevenson Boardman: James S. Stevenson, 89, died Thursday, December 10, 2015. He was born in 1926, in Buffalo, NY, the son of James W. and Jane M. (Mattson) Stevenson. Jim graduated with a degree in metallurgical engineering from Pennsylvania State University and took post graduate courses at Youngstown State University. He was employed for 37 years as a supervisor and process engineer at Seamless Tube Department of Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company and LTV Steel Companies, retiring in 1986. Jim was a member of Boardman United Methodist Church, the Triangle Fraternity, Youngstown YMCA, the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, and served on the board of control of the Mahoning Valley Management Association. He is survived by his wife Joan M., to whom he was married for 66 years; four children, James W. Stevenson (Susan) of Barberton, Oh., Carolyn E. Stevenson (Cyndi Morse) of Salem, NH., June G. Waldbauer (Mark) of Canton, MI., and Richard J. Stevenson (Jean Whipple) of Revere, MA; three grandchildren, Melanie. Tindell (Matthew), Valerie M. Durak (Matthew), and Timothy W. Waldbauer. Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Stevenson and Jayne Stevenson.
