James E. Duttry, 91 Boardman: There will be funeral services on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman with Rev. Dennis Massie officiating, for James E. Duttry, 91, who passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman, with his family by his side. James was born March 21, 1925 in Dagus Mines, Pa, the son of the late James M. and Dorothy (Henry) Duttry. He was a 1943 graduate of Portage High School and served his country in the Eighth Air Force as an engineer on a B-17 Flying Fortress. After his discharged, Jim started working for B.F. Goodrich Company, for 21 years. He later purchased a franchise with Steamatic Carpet Cleaning. In 1980, he sold his franchise and worked with Mobile Consultants Inc., Alliance as vice president for 12 years, retiring in 1992. Jim was a member of Boardman Baptist Church. He was a prior member of First Church of the Nazarene for 34 years, where he served as a Sunday School superintendent, board member and greeter. He had a great compassion for all that came through the doors and made everyone feel at home. Jim is survived by two daughters, Donna J. (Glenn) Wilson of Zelienople, Pa., June E. (Michael) Galich of Boardman; 4 grandchildren, Bill Rose, Barbara (Steve) Parsons, Jim (Lisa) Galich, and Heather (Ryan) Cusick; 5 great grandchildren, Johnathon, Marissa, Alexis, Carson and Hailey. Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, the former Jean Moudy, whom he married on June 24, 1944, died September 21, 2011; 5 sisters, Velma, Norma, Thelma, Anna and Margaret; and a brother Ken.
