Irene Mary (Grzywna) Sabo Canfield: Irene Mary Sabo, 64, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 27, 2012 in Hospice House, after a long term illness. She was born October 8, 1947 in Brunswick, Germany the daughter of Joseph and the late Stephanie (Karniewicz) Grzywna. Irene came to United States and the Youngstown area as a child with her family. Irene was a 1965 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Youngstown State University. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Greenbrier Healthcare Center and had previously worked for Assumption Village and Austinwoods. Irene was preceded in death in 1997 by her husband of 24 years, Louis Bruce Sabo, whom she married on August 18, 1973. She will be dearly missed by her loving daughter, Heather (Mark) Meszar of Boardman; a son Brian Sabo of Canfield; her father Joseph Grzywna of Liberty; four brothers Wesley Grzywna, Joseph Grzywna, Stanley Grzywna, and Steve Grzywna; a brother-in-law Richard Sabo; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 9:45 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Boardman and a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Avenue, celebrated by Reverend Joseph Rudjak. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery
