Hugh Ross Haynes, Sr.

Boardman: Hugh Ross Haynes, Sr., 77 died Thursday evening, January 10, 2013 at Beeghly Oaks Skilled Nursing Center.

He was born October 7, 1935 in Culpeper, Virginia, the son of the late Roy Jackson and Lena (McFarland) Haynes. He moved to the Youngstown area in 1964.

Hugh served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an independent trucker driver for over 40 years, retiring in 1996.

He is survived by his children; Hugh R. (Dodie) Haynes, Jr. and Dale R. Haynes, both of Boardman, Kathy L. (Justin) Getz of East Earl, Pennsylvania and Joseph W. (Kathleen) Haynes of North Lima, 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, two sisters; Ella Plunkett and Peggy Davis and a brother Gus Haynes, all from Virginia.

Besides his parents, Hugh was preceded in death by a son Louis Ray Haynes, a sister Elizabeth Nicholson, and five brothers; Morris Haynes, Ray Haynes, Preston Haynes, Charlie Haynes and Paul Haynes.

There are no calling hours and the family will have private funeral services.
