Herbert G. Ellis, Sr, 90

Boardman:  Herbert G. Ellis, Sr., 90, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 after a short illness and a long life.

Herb was born the youngest of 4 sons of John and Florence Ellis.  He was a 1947 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.

He worked at Servomation Vending before starting his own company, Ellis Executive Vending in 1967.  He retired in 1999.

Herb is survived by his children, Herb Ellis, Jr. of San Diego, CA., Lee (Nancy Keeling) Ellis of Poland, Bruce Ellis and Sherry (Bob) Raver, both of Boardman; four grandsons, David (Autumn) Ellis of North Canton, Sargent Michael Ellis, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Daniel Raver and Matthew Ellis, both of Boardman; and a great granddaughter, Caroline Magby of Youngstown.

He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 70 years, Mary Louise, who passed on February 25, 2018; his parents, siblings and a granddaughter, Susan Ellis.

Per his wishes, there will be no funeral and a private memorial will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Thompson Filicky Funeral Home in Boardman.
