Youngstown: Funerall Service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street in Boardman for Gloria J. Essany, 71, who died Sunday afternoon at her residence. Gloria was born January 31, 1940, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Harold Charles "Big Mike" and Gladys Bertha Wilkonson DeLisio. She graduated from David Anderson High School in Lisbon in 1957. Gloria was a machine operator for the General Electric Company for 30 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of the Mahoning United Methodist Church and the Croatin Club. Gloria also enjoyed reading and computer games. Her husband, Donald W. Essany, whom she married August 22, 1970, died June 12, 2009. She leaves her two daughters, Michlel Boone Louk of Youngstown and Victoria (Robert) Golf of Salem; three stepdaughters, Gerine Coombs, Delores Stoop of Oklahoma and Dawnata Hopkins of Missiouri; 12 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
