Obituary

George Lee Perry Youngstown: George Lee Perry, 91, died Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Boardman. The masons from Wick Lodge #481 F. & A.M. will conduct a masonic service on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015 at 11 a.m., at St. James Meeting House in Boardman Park, followed by a memorial service by Rev. Fred Schrock. A military service will be conducted by the Ellsworth V.F.W. Post 9571 at the Veterans Memorial in Boardman Park, following the service. Family and friends may pay their respect one hour prior to the memorial service at St. James Meeting House. George was born May 20, 1924 in Parkers Landing, Pa., the son of the late Miles Darwin and Grace (McBride) Perry. He was a graduate of Parker High School and worked for Sheet & Tube until he went into the Army. George served in the Third Army, under General Patton, during World War II, where he earned the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal. George was a supervisor for Kraft Foods in Cleveland, for over 40 years. After retiring, he was a security guard in Akron and then a flagger for Area Wide Protection in Ohio and Pennsylvania. He attended Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Wick Masonic Lodge #481 F & AM George is survived by his wife Jacqueline; 4 children Darwin (Susan) Perry, Linda (Jim) Gee,, Roger (Murielle) Perry, Miles (Elizabeth) Perry; 3 step-children, Ryan Gaydash, Gary (LeeAnn) Mollenkopf, Daniel (Yvette) Mollenkopf; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, George was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Homer Perry, William Perry, Charles Perry, Orris Perry, Ellis Perry, Floyd Perry; 3 sisters, Frances Cobler, Wilda Davis, and Florence Taylor; and a step-son, David Mollenkopf.
