Elsie J. "Sue" Fleming Warren: There will be a prayer service held on Monday, Jan 4, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman, follow by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 321 Via Mount Carmel Ave, Youngstown for Elsie J. Fleming, 93, who passed away Wednesday morning, Dec 30, 2015 at her residence with her family by her side. Elsie, known as "Sue" was born September 25, 1922 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Thomaso and Pia (Vecchione) Giura. Sue worked at Cleveland Woolen Mills in Ravenna where she met her husband, Gerald. She later worked as a clerk for Lawson's and Tourney's in Warren and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Warren, a member of The Moose Lodge #186, V.F.W. Post 1090, Ladies Auxiliary, helped with activities with the Knights of Columbus #4484, a member of NAUS Club and the Warren I.T.A.M. She was an artist who enjoyed painting pictures for family and friends and spending time with her family. Sue is survived by her husband of 74 years, Gerald L. Fleming, whom she married on August 8, 1941; four children, Dianna P. (Bruce) Brosi of Philadelphia, Pa, Dennis T. (Ann) Fleming, Sr. of Monaca, Pa, Sandra L. (Les) Yocum of Howland, and Robin S. (Joe) Martorana of Bristolville; four grandchildren, Michael John Yocum, Tami (Ken) Pauley, Dennis (Karie) Fleming, Jr. and Alyssa (David) Strickland; and 5 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; two sisters, Vera Lucansky and Josephine Ciavarella, both of Youngstown. Besides her parents, Sue was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Velchek and Mary DiIuio and two brothers, Carmen Giura and Mike Giura. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Jacob Lewis memorial fund Hope Racer Project, 465 Jefferson Avenue, Sharon, Pa. 16146 in memory of Sue.
