North Lima: There will be funeral services on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Elizabeth "Betty" J. Shearer, 86 who died Tuesday evening, October 18, 2011 at Caprice Health Care Center.
Betty was born March 25, 1925 in Munson, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Yanich) Demko.
She graduated from Morrisdale High School in Morrisdale, Pennsylvania. Betty was very proud to have worked for the Defense Department in New Jersey during World War II and later moved to the Youngstown area after the war.
Betty was a waitress at Pitliks on South Avenue, Youngstown for 15 years.
Her husband George A. "Bud" Shearer whom she married on August 22, 1988, died November 7, 2003.
Betty is survived by four children; Robert L. (Jeananne Gove) McCullough of Poland, John A. (Connie) McCullough of Salem, Kathleen M. Thomas of Struthers and David E. McCullough of Boardman, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a great great grandson.
Besides her parents and her first husband Robert B. McCullough, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers; Stephen Demko and John Demko.
