Dennis F. Simmons, 70 Youngstown: Dennis Floyd Simmons, 70, known as "Denny" passed away suddenly Thursday morning, November 28, 2013 at his residence. Denny was born February 15, 1943 in Morgantown, West Virginia, the son of the late John Leroy and Betty Jane (Shriver) Simmons. He moved to the Youngstown area in the 1950's and graduated from South High School in 1963. He served in the Navy. He worked in the restaurant industry for over 30 years. Denny worked for Antone's in Youngstown and for several restaurants in Arizona, Texas and Missouri, before retiring and returning to Youngstown. He attended Victory Christian Center in Coitsville. Denny is survived by a sister Margaret "Maggie" L. Simmons of Youngstown, his aunt and caregiver, Loretta Campbell of Youngstown, several nieces and nephews and his four legged companion "Penny". Besides his parents, Denny was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosemary McCullough, Diana K. Baber-Torrez, and a brother John Simmons. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman.
