Delbert W. Hudson Youngstown: There will be private funeral services on Friday for Delbert Hudson, 90 of Meridian Arms Living Center, who died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Hospice House. Delbert was born August 9, 1922 in Canton, Ohio, the son of the late Carl A. and Florence (Roth) Hudson. He graduated from Canton McKinley High School in 1940 and from DeForest Institute of Chicago in 1948. Delbert served with the US Army Air Corp during World War II from 1942 to 1946. He moved to Youngstown in 1948 and worked for Liberty Manufacturing until 1965. He then worked for Otis Elevator Company, retiring as local manager in 1984. He owned and operated Hudson's Trophies and Awards after retiring. He was also a ham radio operator (K8AIW) and a former Youngstown Rotarian. His wife, the former Cecille A. Marti whom he married on August 14, 1943, died October 24, 2010. Delbert is survived by two sons: Jeffrey W. Hudson of Boardman, and Scott A. (Karin) Hudson of Cleveland, two daughters Linda (Ernie) Norton of Ocala, Florida and Jeanne (Delbert) Hanuschak of Boardman, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. There are no calling hours. The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512.
