Obituary

David A. McBride, 78 "Poppy" Mira Loma, CA: David A. McBride, 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Riverside Community Hospital in Mira Loma, CA. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. at The Tandy Apartment Complex Community Room, 33 Monette Street, Campbell with Reverend Sarita Tate officiating, follow by a military service. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the center. David, known as "Poppy" was born June 4, 1936 in Youngstown, the son of the late James H. and Gladys L. (Haag) McBride, Sr. He graduated from South High School in 1954. David entered into the Army in 1955, receiving the Good Conduct Medal and the Marksmanship (Rifle) Badge. He received an Honorable discharged in 1958, as a Private First Class. After leaving the service, David joined the Army Reserves. David worked for American Welding and Manufacturing Company in Warren for over 25 years before retiring. He was a member of Victory Christian Center in Coitsville for several years before moving to Mira Loma, Ca. in 1999. While in California, David became an active member of Country Village Church, performing and serving as an usher and greeter. He was an ordained Minister and Bible Teacher with the Water of Life Community Church in California. David enjoyed ministering to others by doing volunteer work, picking up donations for Homeless Shelters and delivering Meals on Wheels to shut-ins. David was a member of the Senior Citizens Club and enjoyed computer games. David is survived by two daughters, Lori A. (Cruz) Rosario of Girard and Doreen L. McBride of Campbell; three step-children, Billy (Terri) Mock, Cathy (Bob) Ferrando and Debbie Mock; a brother, Arthur W. "Mac" (Ellie) McBride of Westlake; a sister Gladys B. (Little) VanDyke of Canfield; two grandchildren, Salina McBride and Michael McBride, both of Girard, three nieces, Tammie (Eric) Scheider of Maple Heights, Katie Davis of Austintown and Sharon Yambar of Youngstown; three nephews, Jeff McBride of Cleveland, Chris (Maureen) Yambar and Tim Yambar, both of Youngstown; three great nephews, one great niece and four great-great nephews; ten step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren, all from Youngstown and Cynthia Porter, a long standing friend from Mira Loma, California. Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Jenosvich whom he married in 1968; a brother James H. McBride, Jr. and a step-daughter Angela Mock. He was friendly, helpful and thoughtful. He was loved by everyone who knew him. "Poppy" will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
