Obituary

Charles A. "Mickey" Rindin, 86

Boardman: There will be funeral services on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman, with Pastor Bob Quaintance officiating for Charles A. Rindin, 86, known as "Mickey" who passed away in his sleep Thursday morning, September 22, 2016 at his residence.

Mickey was born October 27, 1929 in Youngstown, the son of the late Maxwell A. and Florence (Skelton) Rindin.

He graduated from Boardman High School in 1947 and attended the Dana School of Music at Youngstown College. Mickey was an Army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict.

At the age of 14, Mickey started working for Idora Park in 1942 and continued for the next 42 years, until he retired in 1984 from the Refreshments Division.

He was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Boardman. Mickey was a member of The American Legion Post #732, Youngstown, The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #92 in Gananoque, Canada. He was a musician and played at Idora Park Ballroom, The Elms Ballroom and Yankee Lake Ballroom. He played for Benny Jones, Bill Ost and at Club Merry Go Round.

Mickey is survived by his wife of 20 years, the former Alice A. Maczko-Perry, whom he married on September 14, 1996, his two children. Charles A. (Rebecca) Rindin, Jr. of Madison, Robin M. (Larry) Restivo of Hubbard; three step-daughters, Renee (Vincent) Pilolli, Janice (Geoffery) Jones, both of Boardman and Elizabeth (Robert) Makara of Brunswick; and ten grandchildren, Joshua Rindin, Vincent, Nicole, Natalie, Nina Pilolli, Abigail, Michael, Maxwell Makara, Sydney and Riley Jones; and a sister-in-law Marie Rindin of Collierville, Tennessee.

Besides his parents, Mickey was preceded in death by his two previous wives, the former RuthAnn Gevhardt, and Dorothy Scull; and also, his brother James Rindin

Family and friends may call on Monday, September 26, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior the service on Tuesday, at Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home.

The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to The American Red Cross, 3530 Belmont Avenue, Suite 7, Youngstown, Ohio 44505 in memory of Mickey.
