Carol Ann Venardos, 70 Austintown: Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman, for Carol Ann Venardos, 70, formerly of Celeste Circle, who passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Vista Care at the Ridge with her family by her side. Carol was born January 20, 1945 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John R. and Ruth E. (Zimmerman) Elbel. She graduated from South High School in 1962. Carol retired from Packard Electric in Warren. Carol is survived by her sister, Mary E. (David) Spohn of Youngstown; several nieces and nephews, Rebecca (Brian) George of Austintown, Michele Schultz of Mayville, Wisconsin, Michael (Valerie Salato) Wykhuis of Brookfield, Wisconsin, Jennifer (Michael) Brindisi of New Middletown, Ohio and Jessica (Jay) Kihm of Youngstown; several great nieces and nephews and her special caregivers, Ronald Ettinger of Youngstown, William Ettinger of New Castle, Pennsylvania and Earl (Patty) Ettinger Warren. Besides her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband of five years, Michael P. Venardos whom she married on June 5, 1976 and who died February 16, 1981; a brother Robert Elbel; and a sister, Linda J. (Lloyd) Wykhuis.
