Carl Arthur Franklin, 83 Poland: There will be a memorial service on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:15 a.m. at Poland Presbyterian Church, 2 Poland Manor Drive, for Carl Arthur Franklin, 83, who died suddenly on Monday, April 27, 2015 at his residence. Carl was born September 26, 1931 in Youngstown, the son of the late Carl O. and Clara (Hunt) Franklin. He graduated from South High School, Youngstown. He worked for Shenango Steel Company, West Middlesex for 25 years, retiring in 1982. Carl was a member of Poland Presbyterian Church. He served in the National Guard during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid bowler and bowled on several leagues in the area. He enjoyed fishing, especially at Mill Creek Park. Carl is survived by his sister, Natalie E. Hillegas of Struthers and two nieces and two nephews. Besides his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Hunter whom he married on May 26, 1962, and who died April 16, 1994; and his infant brother, Bob Franklin. Family and friends may call on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 10:30 until 11:15 a.m., at Poland Presbyterian Church, follow by memorial service.
