Andrew R. Johnson Jr. Boardman- There will be funeral services on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street Boardman for Andrew R. Johnson Jr., 84, who died Tuesday afternoon, June 14, 2011, at Hospice House, Poland, Ohio. He was born June 2, 1927, in Youngstown, the son of the late Andrew and Ida Mae Norgren Johnson. Andrew was the owner and president of A.R. Johnson Construction a residential and commercial contracting company, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 66 and past president of the American Antique Truck Club, NE Ohio. Andrew was a Army veteran in World War II. He is survived by his wife Eleanor P. Butler Johnson whom he married on November13, 1948, and three children, Andrew R. (Cheryl Berendt) Johnson III of North Lima, Linda Rae Johnson of Youngstown, and Susan Irene Halls of Columbus; four grandchildren, Christine(Charley) Crawford, James R (Amy) Halls Jr., Bradley A. (Katie) Johnson, Corporal Christopher W. Johnson a marine currently deployed over seas, two great-grandchildren, Tyler Crawford , Ava Marie Halls, and a sister Irene Lund of Texas. Besides his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by his brother, William B. Johnson and a sister Doris Snellgrove.
