Alice B. Hall

Sebring: There will be funeral services at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman for Alice Brown Hall, 96 formerly of Youngstown, who died Thursday morning, June 21, 2012 at Salem Community Hospital.

She was born June 14, 1916 in New Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Oliver and Blanche (Layton) Brown. Alice graduated from Springfield Township High School in 1935 and later moved to the Youngstown area.

Alice was a bookkeeper for the Credit Bureau of Youngstown for over 20 years, retiring in 1981.

She was a member of Western Reserve United Methodist Church, a member the Women's Missionary Society and the Amity Sunday School Class, at the church. She was an active bowler at Holiday Bowl.

Her husband, William J. Hall, Sr. whom she married on May 29, 1936, died in April 2, 1955.

Alice is survived by a son William J. Hall, Jr. of Commack, New York, four grandsons; William (Liz) Hall, Mitchell "Scott" (Lisa) Hall, Richard (Heather) Hall, and Dale (Allison) Hall, all from Long Island, New York, and 9 great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by a sister Pearl Knight, four brothers Frank Brown, Fred Brown, William Brown and Oliver Brown.

Family and friends may call on Saturday, June 23, 2012 from noon to 1 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Boardman
