Margaret A. Bray, 75

     Canfield:  There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 11 am at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 7345 Westview Drive in Boardman with Fr. Philips Rogers officiating, preceded by a 10:30 am prayer service at Thompson Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street in Boardman for Margaret A. Bray, 75, who passed away Sunday evening, August 12, 2018 at Hospice House with her loving family by her side.

     Margaret, known as “Peggy” was born October 28, 1942 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Edward F. and Catherine I. (Dugan) Thorne. 

     She graduated from Villa Maria High School in Youngstown and St. John’s College in Cleveland with a degree in nursing. 

     Peggy was a Registered Nurse.  She worked for St. Elizabeth Hospital and Humility of Mary Hospice and later for Hospice of the Valley, before retiring in 2002. 

     She was a member of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

     Peggy enjoyed playing bridge. She was a member of a bridge club with her good friends that met monthly for over 45 years.          

     Peggy is survived by a son, Shawn T. (Kimberly) Bray of Barberton, Ohio; a daughter, Shannon C. Schobel-Brown of Canfield; 9 grandchildren, Mara Isabella Bray, Zander Schobel, Brynna Schobel, Caden Brown, Samuel Brown, Kelcie (fiancé Jess Pomfret) Cuckler, JD Cuckler, Jabin Cuckler, and Kloee Cuckler.

     Besides her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Samuel T. Bray whom she married February 28, 1970, died, March 17, 2013; and two infant brothers. 

     Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 5 to 7 pm at Thompson Filicky Funeral Home 4221 Market Street in Boardman and on Friday, from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the funeral home with services to follow at 11 am at Saint Charles Borromeo Church.

     Peggy will always be loved and remembered by her family and friends.  She was dedicated to her son, daughter, grandchildren and friends.  She will be deeply missed.

     The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio  44512 in memory of Peggy.
