Warren Richard Shotts, 84

Lowellville:  Warren Richard  Shotts, 84, formerly of Hiram, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at his residence with his family by his side.

Warren was born January 18, 1933 in Youngstown, the son of the late Saul & Margaret (Lyle) Shotts and stepmother Catherine (Mayfield) Shotts.

Warren grew up in the Youngstown area, before moving to Georgia. He worked for the Sheet Metal Local  #85 in Atlanta, GA for 30 years, retiring in December, 1997. In retirement, he enjoyed working for Cobb County Parks as a bus driver for the mentally challenged kids, and oh how he loved those kids.

Warren enlisted in the National Guard in 1953 and transferred to the Army Reserve in 1954 and enlisted the Air Force in 1957.

He was  “jack of all trades”, if he couldn’t fix it, it was really broken.

Warren leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Ross & Darlene Shotts of Florence, SC, his daughter, Debra Shotts of Easton, PA; grandson, Richard & Ashley Capps of Douglasville, GA; sisters-in-laws, Kay Mealy of Tionesta, PA, Charlotte Mealy of Farmington Township, PA and many nephews and nieces.

Besides his parents and step mother, Warren was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 year, the former Mary Darlene (Mealy) Shotts; three brothers, Arnold Shotts, Myron Shotts and Ross Shotts;  three sisters, Mary Louise Fleischer, Ruth McMahan and Zelda Shotts.

Family and friends may call on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 5 to 7 pm at Thompson Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street in Boardman.  Funeral services will follow at 7 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Leo Feher officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio  44512 in memory of Warren.

The Shotts family would like to thank their family, friends and The Hospice of the Valley for their love, care, support and prayers that they gave to Warren and his family during this time.
