Youngstown: LaVerne Dietzel went to be with Jesus on May 25, 2017 after a two month illness of pulmonary fibrosis.
She was born on November 29, 1938 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Krichbaum) Dietzel.
LaVerne graduated from Boardman High School and attended Penn-Ohio Junior College. She was a lifelong resident of Youngstown.
She worked at Krichbaum Lock and Mower in Youngstown and sold several health and beauty products.
LaVerne was a member of Highway Tabernacle Church in Austintown for 40 years and in recent years, attended Doers of the Word Baptist Church in Cortland for their evening services.
She loved the Lord and greatly enjoyed going to Christian concerts regularly with her good friends, the Keelings, Charles and Brenda Jarvis and others.
LaVerne is survived by two brothers, Jack K. Dietzel of North Lima and Ronald E. Dietzel of Boardman.
Special thanks go to all the special people at Heritage Manor who were such a blessing to LaVerne, for the last 10 years, as well as Dr. Bruce Willner.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 11 to noon at Highway Tabernacle Church, 3000 S. Raccoon Road in Austintown. A memorial service will be held at noon at the church with Pastor Duane Bull officiating.
