Boardman: There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Dominic’s Church, 77 E. Lucius Avenue in Youngstown for Dorothy J. Cerritelli, 91, who passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Sunrise of Poland with her family by her side.
Dorothy was born January 13, 1926 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Luigi and Virginia (Scialdone) Cipro, Sr.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, Pa.
Dorothy worked in the mailroom for U S Steel in Pittsburgh for several years and was a devoted homemaker.
She was a member of St. Dominic’s Church,where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Alter Rosary Society.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 70 years, Albert E. Cerritelli, whom she married on September 13, 1947; five children, Albert E. (Janet) Cerritelli, Jr. of New Middletown, Ronald J. (Lynne) Cerritelli of Naples, Florida, Robert F. Cerritelli Port Charlotte, Florida, Cynthia J. (Michael) Morley of Boardman and Michael P. Cerritelli of Alexandria, Virginia; two grandsons, Brandon (Mandy Delvaux) Cerritelli and Andrew Cerritelli.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Lou Cipro and Irene Viola Zanni; and four brothers, Romolo Cipro, Edward Cipro, Anthony Cipro and Silvio Cipro.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson Filicky Funeral Home, 42221 Market Street and on Thursday, from 9:15 until time of prayer service at 10 am at the funeral home. Funeral service for Dorothy will follow at 10:30 at St. Dominic’s Church.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to St. Dominic Church Memorial Fund, 77 E. Lucius Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44507 in memory of Dorothy.
Dorothy’s family would like to thank the staff of Sunrise of Poland and Crossroads Hospice for the loved, care, and support that they gave to Dorothy and her family at this time.
