From my family to yours, we pay our respects for the loss of your loved one. I took care of Anna during her stay at Humility House, and it was a pleasure doing so. She was always wanting to go to all the activities and was nice to just chat with. She is in a better place now and we are so deeply sorry for your loss.

Aunt Kathleen was always so special to me! When I was young, she blessed me by taking me on a trip to North Carolina. What I truly remember about the trip was Aunt Kathleen always wore a skirt, we always stopped for donuts, and I had ample opportunity to learn the lyrics from "The Best of the Statler Brothers." To this day, I still remember all the words! On one of her visits to Frostburg, Aunt Kathleen took me shopping (supposedly for a dress). I think I got the dress, but I also walked out with a softball bat that was way too heavy for me to swing. I finally outgrew the dress but eventually grew into the bat--which I still have to this day. I cherished my limited time with her and admired her endlessly, knowing what a true woman of God she was. I currently have a picture of my grandmother (Aunt Kathleen's mom) in my home. I didn't know my grandmother, who passed away when I was very little, but have been told by others how her voice would often resonate through the sanctuary of Shaft United Methodist Church. Whenever I would hear Aunt Kathleen sing--either a good 'ole pentecostal rendition of a hymn or the Statler's "Do You Know You Are My Sunshine"--I couldn't help but think her voice held the same love and passion of my Grandma Bessie. I will forever treasure Aunt Kathleen's voice--both through her song and through the quiet wisdom she shared.
